A small living room is a problem that many people in apartments and houses have to deal with. However, no problem is unsolvable, and there are several methods to visually, as well as functionally, enlarge any space. We have prepared them for you in the following article.
The living room as the main daily space
Huge living walls are no longer in fashion. Living walls can also be small, shallow, and even hanging. If you want to feel comfortable in your living space, it should be bright, spacious (at least visually), and cozy at the same time. Light wood colors and soft materials can help you achieve coziness.
Furniture? Try minimalism
Each dresser means extra storage space, that's a fact. However, it also takes up additional space for movement. Consider whether your treasures and artifacts from the dresser could be stored in the basement or attic. The less furniture you have in your living room, the more modern and spacious it will be. Of course, in large living rooms, you can afford to have as much furniture as you wish.
Light colors make a big difference
White walls, white furniture, and a light gray sofa make a real difference. If you don't want your living room to feel too sterile, a few carefully chosen accessories, such as light wooden decorations (like Sonoma oak) and decorative pillows on the sofa, will help maintain a warm yet open feel throughout the room.
Mirrors and plants have their power
Mirrors reflect natural light, as well as artificial lighting, throughout the room and, in addition, visually enlarge the space. A well-chosen large mirror can literally double the size of the room. If you place such a mirror on, for example, a built-in wardrobe, you'll get two useful effects in one. Plants remind us of the outdoors, which is never cramped.
Choose the right accessories and lighting
The selection of the right accessories makes a huge difference. Again, opt for minimalism. One beautiful sculpture on the entire dresser and a single candle on the coffee table are completely sufficient. If you want to visually enlarge the space in the evening as well, choose cool white LED lights instead of traditional yellow bulbs.
